3 Minutes to reflect
In the words of William James: "The deepest principle in human nature is the yearning to be acknowledged and valued."
During childhood, we seek the affirmation of our parents, and as adolescents, the acceptance of those who capture our hearts. In school, we yearn for recognition from our teachers.
In the realm of work, we aspire to gain the endorsement of our superiors. We strive for the promotions bestowed upon us and the subsequent financial rewards.
Recently, I had a conversation with a remarkable 29-year-old woman whose life has been defined by exceptional accomplishments. Graduating with honors from a prestigious business school, she spent four years excelling at a leading American investment bank, followed by another four years at the world's largest private equity fund.
Now, however, she has resolved to reimagine herself as an entrepreneur. This challenge will take her into new uncharted territory.
The startup stages are scarce in feedback. There are no peers, bosses, few or no clients to tell you if what you are doing is right or not.
The pre-seed stage involves embracing errors, learning from them, and persevering until the correct route emerges.
The essence of the journey lies in the consistent rise after each fall, transcending ego's influence. Every experiment in the quest for product-market fit reflects not on one's character but on the pursuit itself.
Failure in an experiment doesn't label one an inept entrepreneur, just as success in an experiment doesn't anoint one as an extraordinary one.
To triumph, she must navigate the process of reprogramming her cognitive frameworks.
Entrepreneurship constitutes a mental challenge wherein the thirst for approval transmutes into a longing to serve.
Serving customers, contributing to team growth, and advancing positive change in the world.

A video I never tire of recommending showcases what product-market fit truly looks like. It’s a must-watch for every aspiring entrepreneur
I have discovered a startup that I’m using frequently. It’s called Flown (https://flown.com), and it allows you to create a kind of virtual co-working space. It’s a somewhat surreal experience – you connect and find yourself working side by side with a stranger based in NYC or LA. Give it a look.
