I Just Saw the Future, and It's Using My Mouse

3 minutes to reflect
Technology has left me speechless only 4 times in the last 30 years. Yesterday was the latest one.
Let me walk you through these moments:
1990s: Opening my first webpage (remember that dial-up connection sound?)
2007: Holding an iPhone for the first time
2022: Watching ChatGPT-3 give eerily intelligent responses
Yesterday: Seeing an AI agent control my computer!!!
Yesterday's revelation came from a simple 10-minute Twitter tutorial where I installed Anthropic's latest demo: Actions.
Here's what blew my mind:
I typed something like "open Gmail and log in using my credentials"
The AI broke this down into precise steps: launch browser, navigate to Gmail, find the login button, input my details
Then, like magic, I watched as my cursor moved by itself, executing each action flawlessly
How does it "see" where to click? Brilliantly simple: it takes a screenshot, analyzes it like we would ("ah, the browser icon is at coordinates 800,400"), and moves the cursor there. Click. Next action.
I still vividly remember the painfully slow loading times of Radio Deejay's website - my first venture into the internet. I remember how basic the first iPhone felt compared to today's standards. This demo, too, was limited in scope.
But here's the thing: just like those earlier moments…
I could see the future unfolding before my eyes. A future where AI agents work alongside us, understanding and executing our intentions. There's no going back from here.
Just like we can't imagine life without smartphones today, soon we won't remember how we managed without AI agents handling our digital tasks.
The world is about to change. Again.

2 Things People Don't Realize About AI
The Greatest Implication of AI
Fire doesn't make more fire. Electricity doesn't make more electricity. But AI has the capacity to be self-improving.
AI has become democratized faster than any technology in history
In one step it has gone from labs to universal access where you cannot buy better access for $1 million than you can get for free or for $20/month
