My 3 new year resolutions (3 of 3)
#157 - Reflections on investing and life from building my holding company
Dear reader,
Final goal 2026:
Write 15 times before sleep: “Build a €500M+ fitness hospitality real estate portfolio”
Why
The idea for this practice comes from some book I read ages ago. Obsession toward a goal is programmable. Like everything, it requires discipline and consistency. By writing your goal 15 times before bed, you program your subconscious to work on it during the night. I’ve done it with other goals in the past. It works.
But what is this portfolio I want to build?
Every time I go on a business trip, my fitness routine—the one I spend so much time cultivating at home—goes out the window. I enter a hotel room and eat shit from the mini bar. There are plenty of studies showing how prone to indulgence we become when traveling. Hotels are designed for comfort, not fitness.
I have an indea of a place that is a sanctuary of your routine away from home. Crafted with intention. A home for travelers with intentions. I would love to find it. I would love to build it. High level concept here
How to make it stick
Every evening, before bed, I write the sentence 15 times. Pen and paper. No phone. It takes about 3 minutes.
I’ve been testing it through December. The repetition sounds stupid. It is stupid. But something shifts. The goal stays with you. You wake up thinking about it. You notice opportunities you would have missed.
I also use a 12 lives strategy. I allow myself up to 12 full misses in a year and still call the goal accomplished. One per month. I track them. It removes the pressure of perfection without removing accountability.
Want to try it?
Buy a nice notebook (check this one i like).Place it next to your bedside table with a pen. Write your goal 15 times before sleep. Simple. Stupid. Works. Give it a shot.
