The Philosophy of ‘Buying the Dip’
#146 - Reflections on investing and life from building my holding company
3 Paragraphs to think
The stock market works like a pendulum. Directionally, it rises over time—but it swings between euphoria and fear, between irrational optimism and sharp correction.
Society moves the same way. Over the long arc, we trend toward higher ethical and moral standards, yet the pendulum never stops. It swings from the hyper–political correctness of pronouns and #MeToo to the anti-woke backlash ignited—and weaponized—by Trump’s rise.
This constant oscillation isn’t a flaw. It’s a feature of human nature itself. It mirrors the duality of the brain—two hemispheres perceiving the world in opposing ways. Sometimes one dominates, sometimes the other, in the eternal dance between order and chaos we call progress.
