This AI Is So Advanced, It Coded My App for Me
#82 Angelinvesting.it - From idea to Series A - Weekly Newsletter
Dear reader,
I've just created something I can't wait to share it with you. It's a set of web apps that have improved my daily routine, all thanks to AI. Meet "Intentions" and "Evening" - my new digital accountability partners.
Every morning, I fire up "Intentions." It's a simple web app where I plan my day: (1) what I'll eat, (2) my workout plan, and (3) my top 3 priorities of the day. Come evening, "Evening" takes the stage. With just a few clicks, I can check off whether I stuck to my morning intentions and reflect on how well I honored my 5 core values that day.
Now, here's the kicker - I built these apps with the help of Claude, an AI from Anthropic. And when I say "help," I mean Claude did the heavy lifting:
Wrote 192 lines of Python code
Guided me through setting up the tech infrastructure
Taught me how to install Python on my Mac
Advised on additional packages to download
Troubleshot every bug we encountered
From concept to live app, it took just 5 hours. Yes, you read that right - 5 hours!
I've switched from ChatGPT to Claude, and the difference is night and day. This AI didn't just spit out code; it was my personal tech consultant, guiding me through every step of the process.
Here's the thing: I don't think most people have grasped how groundbreaking this AI wave really is. We're not just talking about chatbots anymore. We're talking about AI that can conceptualize, code, and problem-solve alongside you.
I'm attaching a thread below that dives deeper into this topic. As you read it, keep my experience in mind. It's not just theory - it's happening right now, in home offices and bedrooms around the world.
Welcome to the future, folks. It's wild, it's exciting, and it's just getting started.
Happy reading!
Have a great weekend,
Simone
Predictions for the future of startups:
The AI Model race will hit the wall, and all providers will be roughly on the same level, including the open-source players.
The b2b digital SaaS will be heading toward commoditization, prices will be dropping, and at some point, we may even see the b2c model, where tools are free, but the user is "the product".
Startups in real-sectors will be the "next hot thing" for the next 20 years. Things like bio, healthcare, agriculture, construction and so on. The hardware will make its way back, since most of these startups will be hardware+software.
New platforms will emerge.Right now deploying an app for healthcare is same as making an app prior Iphone era. One would have to also build their own device. We will see all "real world" verticals adopting shared platforms so that startup founders can deploy their apps there
Distribution will mean everything. The next generation of founders are those who built their audience and then reverse-engineered products & services to supply to the audience. ChatGPT makes it easier for marketers to learn coding than for coders to learn marketing.
Governments will go crazy on IT. Building platforms/products/tools on top of government APIs will be huge. Most governments don't have APIs, so this will start by utilizing scrapers. But govs will adopt rules of making everything into APIs so that others can build on top.
VC money will totally exit the "pre-seed" stage. Funding pre-seed founders is a form of a negative selection. Betting on those who can't pull off their MVP on their own is a recipe for a failed investment. Ofc with some exceptions, such as repeat-founders.
Overall, the next 20 years will be the best time to be alive if you're a startup founder or an indie maker as I am.
